NEW Logo Launch
"Finding a logo that fit our club quickly became a big priority since we are in the process of revamping our program on campus. It is important for us to get our name and mission out there and be recognizable. We have several clubs on campus and we want everyone to know who we are. It's especially cool that one of our very own Faculty Advisors, Ms. Julie Lundgren, designed it for us. I had to opportunity to work beside her and one of the designers at Acute Design, to help our logo come to life. The brand new tye dye club t-shirts are a hit and we even got to debut them on our interview with WFXR News! Our logo represents us in a very personal and professional way. We are proud of who we are and where we are, which is directly portrayed through our logo. The seat belt across the state of Virginia represents how important to us it is to keep our roads safe. Be sure to buckle up!"

"Battle of the Belts was a huge success for our campaign, informing students about traffic safety. It was a Chinese Fire Drill that required participants to focus on buckling their seat belts. During the event teams competed for multiple prizes during their lunch times. Between the cheering, whistle blowing, and car doors opening and closing, there was lots of laughter! At the end of the day it was obvious that students were already anxious for next years competition." - Morgann Dills, YOVASO Secretary

3562 - YOVASO Takes on Theater
"As an intern for the theater classes, and having been a member of YOVASO for the past two years, it was very exciting for me to be a part of a collaboration between the two. The play to me truly embodies what YOVASO stands for as it details the negative outcome of driving under the influence. This is an important part of our campaign as it provides an example of one of the very real consequences of driving under the influence such as jail time and injuring, or even killing, the people around you. Not only does this play demonstrate possible consequences, but the fact that it is preformed by local high school students that are familiar to the audience may help drive the message home. Along with the play, a few YOVASO members have come together to write a fun, humorous skit that both entertains the audience, and informs them on what YOVASO is and how they can get involved. This should be a fun event for not only YOVASO, but the community as well!"
